The 2026 Hyundai Kona Loses Its Smile

Change isn’t always a good thing, and that partially applies to the 2026 Hyundai Kona. While the latest generation of the popular subcompact SUV gains various welcomed upgrades over the previous model, it sadly loses the small remnants of its fun in the process.  The 2026 Kona uses an updated version of Hyundai and Kia’s jointly developed K-platform, currently used and shared between the two manufacturers’ compact sedans and crossovers such as the Seltos, Niro and Elantra.  The new chassis complements a fresh look, as Hyundai brings its futuristic cyberpunk-inspired design motifs from its IONIQ electric vehicle line to the Kona, exemplified by LED bar front and rear taillights, aggressive wheel arches and sharp body lines.  Though the edgier cues work well on … Continue reading The 2026 Hyundai Kona Loses Its Smile

The 2025 Audi RS e-tron GT Performance: Terrifying, in a Great Way

I'm afraid of things that many deem simple, but what I fear most are roller coasters. It's not because of the height, and I don't mind the speed either; what gets to me is the feeling.   You know, that feeling--the drop. When your stomach feels like it's caving in on itself. “Nah, I’m not looking for anything special. I just want something normal.” A quote from a good friend of mine, Luke, who asked me for advice on buying his first car a few months ago. He subconsciously reminded me that not everyone is a stickler for performance numbers and brand affinity, and look at cars … Continue reading The 2025 Honda CR-V and its Comfortable Normality

This Abandoned Nissan EXA Sportbak is a Forgotten 80’s Relic

You’ve probably never known this car existed, and neither did I up until a few hours ago. Before they were known for their unreliable transmissions and bad PR from Altima drivers, Nissan had some solid bangers in their model lineup. The mid-80s and early 90’s birthed the brand’s most iconic cars, including the Skyline GT-R, … Continue reading This Abandoned Nissan EXA Sportbak is a Forgotten 80’s Relic

The 2024 Lexus GX550 Overtrail is a Return to Form

I’m not alone in admitting that I have a bias for luxury, and my loyalties tend to lie with the Germans. Time and time again they’ve proven they’re the gold standard, the benchmark for state-of-the-art technology and automotive innovation. I’m not ashamed of being a fanboy for the six-figure land yachts that BMW and Mercedes … Continue reading The 2024 Lexus GX550 Overtrail is a Return to Form
